What is a Bre-B key? 🤔
Bre-B is Colombia's immediate payment system. A Bre-B key is an identifier that replaces account details: instead of sharing an account number, you share your key and the other person transfers to you from any Colombian bank or wallet.
In belo you generate your own key, associated with your account. You can use it in two ways:
Share it with another person: you give them your key and that person transfers Colombian pesos from their bank or wallet.
Use it yourself: transfer to your key from your own account in Colombia to add money to belo.
Do I need to be Colombian to have a Bre-B key?
No. Anyone with a verified belo account can create their key, regardless of nationality or where they live.
How they send you money 💰
Whoever transfers to you enters your key in the Bre-B option of their bank or wallet, enters the amount and confirms. The transfer is made in Colombian pesos and arrives in your belo account in seconds. We notify you when it is credited.

Does it have a cost?
No. Bre-B deposits have no fees in belo. If they send you $50,000 COP, you receive 50,000 COLt.
How long does it take?
Bre-B payments are credited in seconds, as soon as the other person confirms the transfer.
In what currency is it credited? The 1:1 parity with COLt
The money is credited in COLt, the Colombian peso token issued by Twin Finance. The parity is 1 COP = 1 COLt: if you receive $50,000 COP, $50,000 COLt is credited to your balance. COLt is a stablecoin pegged 1 to 1 to the Colombian peso: its value follows the peso. You can use them to send money, pay or exchange them for other cryptocurrencies.

Is there a maximum amount?
The transfer limit is defined by the Bre-B system: $12,100,000 COP. For larger amounts you can make more than one transfer or use another top-up method in the app.
Can I receive from any bank?
Yes, from any bank or wallet in Colombia that operates with Bre-B, always in Colombian pesos.
What if the money doesn't arrive?
Check with the person who sent it that the transfer appears as completed in their bank and that they copied the full key, without spaces. If it appears successful and you don't see it in belo, write to us through the app chat with the receipt and we will review it.
